1. EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

1.1 WANGSAPHUNG, LOEI: School fees, school uniforms, books, school supplies and educational materials were given to 52 students at the opening of the school year.  Secondary and college students received additional financial assistance for their school fees before the opening of the second semester.

1.2 P HONGSAMRAN STUDY GRANT:  Phongsamram village in Pakchom, Province of Loei,  is a village where some of the Hansenites whom the Sisters are assisting reside.  It entails quite a long trip to reach this village from the District of Wangsaphung where the Sisters have a community.  This is a continuing project.  The total number of children and youths that benefited from the program during the year 2005 is forty (40).  School fees, school uniforms, books, school supplies and educational materials were given to these students.

2. INFORMAL TRAINING:  ENGLISH AND SOCIO-CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Every Saturday, children and youths come for informal English class at the Social Development Center in Wangsaphung.  In the morning, elementary children attend the lessons while in the afternoon would be the turn of high school students.  Before or after their English lessons, value formation is given to them.  Diligence in studies, love for work, good use of time, helpfulness at home and school are some values inculcated.
