From the very beginning when the Mary’s Help Center was established, the Sisters discovered that there are many elderly people in the nearby villages. These elderly are staying with their children. For the first two years, the Center provided services for the elderly through home visitation and food supplement. At present the Center focuses her services on the 110 elderly people from the villages of Phongnakhon and Khokai.
ACTIVITIES:
Monthly common savings of the elderly group
Regular home visitation and provision of food supplement especially for the sick elderly
Hospital referrals when needed
Occupational Therapy for the elderly like bamboo basket making
Mat weaving as an income generating activity for the elderly
Group meetings and Socialization on special occasions like Senior Citizens Day, Songkran Festival (Thai New Year) and Christmas
