ST. GERARD COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION PROGRAM
FOR THE HANDICAPPED


CBR for HIV and AIDS Patients and Families

Based Rehabilitation
Program for the Handicapped
provided services to 712 beneficiaries within the province of Khonkaen.

  • The project provided continuous on-going
    formation in the areas of rehabilitation, socio-economic development, networking and collaboration.
  • In every trainings/seminars, information are shared, plans of actions are followed up as needed
  • Personnel are trained to coordinate and collaborate with their respective local government officers for any assistance that the project needs and for the local government to be familiar with the project
  • Parents’ training/seminar is intensified for them as support for each other and a help  for parents to be skillful on rehabilitation process.

      • Tambon Chumphae
      • Tambon Nongkhiat
      • Tambon Nong Han
      • Tambon Saat
    • District of Nam Phong
      • Tambon Phang Thoy (6 villages)
    • District of Nong Rua
      • Tambon Kud Kwang (4 villages)
    • District of Sam Sung
      • Tambon Kham Mit (5 villages)
      • Tambon Huay Thoy (5 villages)
  •  Parents’ training/seminar in small groups
  • Handicapped and parents seminar on Rights of the Handicapped and Prevention for being a Handicapped
  • Referrals to hospitals, clinics and other institutions for eye examination, physical assessment, mainstreaming and vocational training
  • Availability of the school for Research and Study
  • Socialization of the Handicapped
    • Camping at Nam Phong District for 3 days and 2 nights
    • Educational Field trip for parents and handicapped
    • DC-CBR games
    • Representing the group fir cultural shows on provincial and local level
    • Christmas and new year’ party
  • Income generating for the families
    • Cricket raising
    • Pig/hog raising
    • Broom making
