The Community Based Program for the Elderly People of the Daughters of Charity in Nongkatan, Kuchinarai in the province of Kalasin, offers activities that would help the elderly people bring out their awareness torealize their opportunities for the remaining days of their lives and to spend some time for physical/emotional rest, for integration of experiences, for socialization with other elderly neighbors who have been their childhood friends, for deeper spiritual experiences be they Buddhists, Catholics, or other religious denomination.

• Activities:
  • Regular Home visit.
  • Referral to hospital/social service center as needed
  • Socio-cultural-spiritual activities:
    • Elderly to visit other elderly person who is sick/bed ridden
    • Monthly meeting
    • Monthly rosary at the house of the oldest Catholic elderly
    • Pilgrimages to That Phanom, the holiest Buddhist Temple in the Northeast of Thailand and to the Shrine of the Seven Martyrs of Thailand, a pilgrimage place of the Catholics.
